Somehow the outdoors marches on, unaware and unconcerned about economic troubles, stock market dips, and other myopic worries that have us humans preoccupied lately. No, the Redbuds bloom their candy pink flowers, the Pecans send forth their chartreuse catkins, and the Rain Lilies herald the smallest droplets from the skies with their billowing white dance along the grasses.
Life goes on, the gardens of the outside say. Every year, you can count on us. We will remind you all that there's a bigger rhythm to march to as we faithfully reawaken every spring.
So, when I need to look beyond the current rumbles of my world, I look to the shoots, leaves, and buds of the big world. They seem to know what they're doing taking everything in stride.
